From the perspective of milling, what are the main processing objects of the machining center?

Machining center is a mechanical processing equipment integrating high and new technology. It has become the mainstream direction of modern machine tool development and is widely used in machinery manufacturing.

The processing quality of the machining center is stable, and the production efficiency is high in the case of multi-variety and small batch production, which can reduce the time for production preparation, machine tool adjustment and process inspection, and the cutting time is reduced due to the use of cutting amount, and it can be processed by conventional methods. It can even process some unobservable processing parts.

According to the characteristics of the machining center, from the perspective of milling processing, the main processing objects are as follows:

1. Plane parts: parts whose processing surface is parallel or perpendicular to the horizontal plane, or whose included angle between the processing surface and the horizontal plane is a fixed angle are plane parts. The vast majority of parts currently processed on CNC Milling machines are flat parts. The characteristics of plane parts are that each processing surface is a plane, or can be expanded into a plane.

2. Variable-bevel parts: Parts with a continuously changing angle between the machining surface and the horizontal plane are called variable-bevel parts. Most of these parts are aircraft parts, such as integral beams, frames, edge strips and ribs on the aircraft; in addition, there are inspection fixtures and assembly frames, which also belong to the variable bevel parts.

3. Surface parts: parts whose processing surface is a space surface are called surface parts. The machining surface of the surface type parts cannot be expanded into a plane. During machining, the machining surface and the milling cutter are always in point contact. Processing surface parts generally use three. When the curved surface is complex and the channel is narrow, the adjacent surface will be damaged and the tool needs to be oscillated, so a four-axis or five-axis machining center should be used.
